 Annual Meat-out day

 Saturday 15th March 2008

For this year’s Meat-out day, AnimalAmnistie decided to focus on the positive side of veganism, rather than simply reminding the public that cruelty and murder lie behind the animal product in their plate.

Veganism does not imply the sacrifice of the culinary pleasures we all love.   To prove our point, members of the association baked delicious cakes, biscuits and crepes which the public were able to try for as little as 20 cts per item!!

Not only is veganism animal-friendly  but also environment-friendly,  and health-friendly,  as our tasty treats testified :    only organic ingredients were used,  whole unrefined flours and sugars,  no hydrogenated fats,  no saturated animal fats, no gmos.

Those who had a taste  were surprised that healthy vegan products could be that good!

Emphasizing the fact that a vegan, cruelty-free lifestyle, does by no means entail giving up pleasure,  was the order of the day.   AnimalAmnistie succeeded in getting this message over to the many passers-by curious to find out what on earth a vegan cake could taste like!!

Of course  flyers were handed out  informing the public about factory farming,  the impact meat production has on the environment and the disastrous consequences meat and dairy consumption has on our health.

Later on in the afternoon we were joined by another Animal Rights association from Toulouse :  Agir pour les animaux -  Take action for animals.

A short film was made to present the association and this interview will shortly be available on Youtube.    Keep your eyes open!

By the end of the day AnimalAmnistie’s ranks were swollen by 4 new members, and as always numerous persons signed up to receive our regular events bulletin.

Thanks to the AnimalAmnistie activists and friends who took part in this action.   Your support is precious.
